مستعمرات الحشرات تعمل كفرد واحد

	واشنطن: أظهرت دراسة أمريكية حديثة أن مستعمرات الحشرات تتبع في نظام حياتها وعملها نفس القواعد البيولوجية التي تتبعها الحشرات منفردة. وكشفت نتائج الدراسة التي أعدها علماء بجامعتي فلوريدا وأوكلاهوما الأمريكيتين وكلية طب ألبرت آينشتاين، أن مجتمعات الحشرات تعمل معاً مثل كائن حي فائق واحد من حيث وظائف الأعضاء ودورة الحياة، حيث حير علماء الأحياء لأكثر من قرن الطبيعة التعاونية للغاية لدى النمل والنحل والحشرات الاجتماعية الأخرى التي تعمل معاً لأجل بقاء ونمو المستعمرة. ومن جانبه، أكد الدكتور جيمس جيلولي الأستاذ بقسم الأحياء في جامعة فلوريدا، أن هذه الدراسة ستساعد العلماء في فهم كيفية نشوء المنظومات الاجتماعية الخاصة بالحشرات عبر الانتخاب الطبيعي وهى العملية التي يحدث بواسطتها التطور، مشيراً إلى أن تطور المنظومات الاجتماعية وخاصةً لدى الحشرات التي تعيش فيها العاملات عقيمة لمساعدة الملكة في التكاثر فقط ظل لغزاً منذ فترة طويلة.
